support for our community during a difficult time

COVID-19 is changing our lives like nothing we have seen before and just popping down to the shops isn't as safe as it used to be. In response to this, The Quiet will be opening up a second day to help families access fresh produce. As people are becoming more health concious they are looking to Certified Organic Produce to support their bodies during this time and we see this as a way we can support the community. The way to get this going is that we will need about 10-12 new members, so if you are interested make sure you get your friends to register too and we will get this second day up and running in time. This will be for a trial period of three months and if it is successful and you like what you receive you are more than welcome to stay with The Quiet when life returns to normal.

how it all works

Members order their own customised Produce and Grocery orders to their own specific quantities and dietary needs. Orders are placed over the weekend via a 'live' online ordering document, from Friday evenings until 8pm Sunday when orders close. We do not ask for a minimum order requirement, so you can order as little or much as you like. We are a small family business and provide customised orders on a weekly basis, and we don't like to store bulk amounts of produce. We much prefer to receive fresh produce each week and deliver on the same day we receive it. Having said that, we ask that members order regularly to assist The Quiet in offering this customised ordering service. It assures a smooth and efficient process and everyone benefits from beautiful fresh produce for each of their orders. The Quiet is a low-profit, community business and only a minimal mark-up is included on the items which ensures the sustainability of the buyers group. A small fee of $10, for each order placed simply contributes to the cost of administration, coordinating, sorting, bookkeeping and sees that your produce is delivered to your nominated collection point. Produce is picked up, sorted and delivered to our Community Collection Points all on the same day, so our Produce is always lovely and fresh. Initially for our second day, Community Collection Point will be located at Pullenvale (just up from the Moggill Pony Club) and we can also offer Home Delivery for + $8. Periodically, we also order from a wholefoods supplier to receive organic bulk nuts, dried fruits, flours, grains, oils, cleaning products etc. Our weekly supplier does stock these items too, but our bulk wholefoods purchase order offers even greater savings. To get you started, each member pays a refundable $100 float so we always have ‘money in the bank’ for when our suppliers debits our Buyers Group account. This can be paid in full with your first order or over 4 x $25 payments with your first four orders. And if you decide to leave the community, this will be 100% refunded back to you. Members receive an invoice post-delivery for their orders and have the choice to pay via 'direct deposit' through online banking or take advantage of our 'secure direct debit' which is best suited to the busy household. (Please note the direct debit incurs a 2.2% charge which is directly passed onto you.) If you would like to see a sample of our prices, please click here.
